Defining Templates for Dynamic Forms

Structure of a Dynamic Form.

When you add a Field, you can select a predefined Template. This will then prefill some of the Field properties: Name, Control Type, and depending on the selected Control Type also: Lookup, Multi Value, Input Type, Decimal Places, and UoM.

The Template prefills some Field properties.

Defining a new Template

To create and define a new Template:

  • In the Field editor, click + Template.

Click + Template. 

  • Enter a Caption.
  • Enter a Control Type, e.g., "Text", "Numeric", "Signature", "Image", "Option List", etc. 
  • Select a Lookup list if applicable. Note: If the predefined lookup lists are not suitable, you can define a new lookup list
  • Check Multi Value, if multiple inputs should be possible.
  • The Input Type will be based on the Control Type.
  • Specify the Decimal Places, if applicable.
  • Select a UoM, if applicable.
  • Click Save.

The new Template will now be available to be selected when you add a Field. When the Field Name matches a predefined Templates Caption, the Template will automatically be selected for the Field and the Field will be prefilled with the Template properties: Control Type, and depending on the selected Control Type also: Lookup, Multi Value, Input Type, Decimal Places, and UoM
