Creating PLSS FLOCs

Prev Next
Take note
This overview will explain how to manually add a new FLOC to IMS-PLSS. When there is an active SAP interface for the Site, FLOCs should not be created manually. In this case the creation of new FLOCs is facilitated through the interface (FLOCs are mastered in SAP).

FLOCs can be created in Bulk through the data import feature.

Alternatively, to create a FLOC:

  • Go to the IMS Main Menu.
  • Click FLOC to go to the FLOC Main Screen (Grid List).
  • Click the Plus button.

A new window will pop up.

  • Fill in the data. See the table below.

The yellow highlighted fields in the form are the required fields, these have to be filled in.

The new FLOC will be created, and you will be redirected to the detail page of the FLOC that was just created.

When adding a new FLOC with invalid data, an invalid Unit location or an invalid Plant location, a warning will be displayed, and the FLOC will not be saved. A new FLOC can be added for an inactive Plant or inactive Unit. In this case, the new FLOC will be inactive as well.

FLOC pop-up fields:

The following fields are listed:

FieldDescription

Parent ID

ID of the Unit for the new FLOC.

Hierarchy

Hierarchy path for the new FLOC: Site, Plant, Unit. Note: the hierarchy is read-only.

FLOC ID

Name of the FLOC, often based on a standard naming convention.

SAP Floc ID

The FLOC name in SAP is often the same as the previous parameter.

FLOC Description

Short description of the new FLOC.

Location Type

Hierarchy Type of the new FLOC, such as PIPELINE SYSTEM-FLOC, CONTROL/INJECTION SYSTEM-FLOC, etc. For more details see below.

Area

Set up the location for the new FLOC.

Active

Should be checked for an active FLOC.

  • Click Save.

The new FLOC will be created. You will be redirected to the Details Page of the FLOC that was just created.

Adding a new FLOC with invalid data, invalid Unit location, or invalid Plant location a warning will be displayed and the FLOC will not be saved. A new FLOC can be added for an inactive Plant or inactive Unit. The new FLOC will get the same status as the Unit in this case; for an inactive Unit, the FLOC will be inactive as well.

Depending on the FLOC Location Type, relevant Equipment groups will be available for selection when creating new Equipment. The table below shows the FLOC Types and related Equipment groups.
