There is a number of conditions to be considered when determining whether Insp General may edited any given Equipment: - *Equipment group ownership* - determined based on the HierarchyTyipe.OwnerBitMask - *SAP interface setttings* - determined based on settings stored in DatabaseSettings ## Generally speaking - Equipment has to be owned by PEI to be (fully) editable in PEI - If SAP interface (setting) is turned on, it will introduce some limitations for certain Roles - If the interface is turned on only in some methodlogies, the override setting allows to apply the Role limitation regardless of the SAP interface setting ## Database settings ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-1677589382880.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T15%3A24%3A59Z&se=2026-10-28T16%3A24%3A59Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=cCCF%2F9DX9SGdXIKlNTjAuPsuyZoD7ksI%2F76hDRtGahQ%3D) - *SAPINTERFACE_ACTIVE* - 0 or 1, showing that any fuctionality that depends on this setting is turned on - *SAPINTERFACE_MB* - bitmask, allows application of the above setting to specific methodologies only - *SAPRIGHTSINTERFACE_MB* - bitmask, allows to disable the rights when *SAPINTERFACE_ACTIVE = 1* for methodologies other than PEI. ## The difference between full, partial an no editing rights PEI owned and fully editable. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-1677590142730.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T15%3A24%3A59Z&se=2026-10-28T16%3A24%3A59Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=cCCF%2F9DX9SGdXIKlNTjAuPsuyZoD7ksI%2F76hDRtGahQ%3D) Partially editable Equipment.
