Connecting Drawings

This article explains how Drawings can be connected.

The Connected Drawings tool allows adding and removing connections between Drawings in IMS. 

Showing connected Drawings

To show connected Drawings:

• Open a Drawing in the Viewer.
• Click on the Connections button to open the Connection tool.
  Click on the Connect button. 
• Hover over a link in the Connected Drawings List. The connected section of the Drawing will be highlighted. Connected Drawings tool.
• Likewise, hover over a section of the Drawing. Any connected Drawings will be highlighted in the Connected Drawings List.
• Click on the link of a Drawing in the Connected Drawings List. The Viewer will be split in half and the connected Drawing will be displayed next to the original Drawing.

Connecting Drawings

To connect to a new Drawing:

• Open a Drawing in the Viewer.
• Click on the Connections button to open the Connection tool.
• Click in the desired section of the Drawing.
• Click Connect with another drawing. Remember: You first have to click on a Drawing section before this option becomes available!Click on Connect with another drawing. 
• Select the desired Drawing from the list.
• Click Save.
