# Creating new User Accounts in IMS

When creating a new user account we need to take in consideration that, especially for the Accounts with stronger roles, the site and module **Focal Point** has to be involved. **Focal Point** should authorize all roles above "Viewer".

## Finding the Focal Point

To find the Focal Point in the portal:

- Hover over the module icon of the applicable site.

## Creating an Account

To create an Account:

- Go to [Settings \ Maintenance \ Security \ Users](/v414/docs/security-settings).

## Removing the assigned Password

There will be cases in which a Password will be assigned but it will need to be revoked - as it is no longer needed, or it was added by mistake. On the **My Account** page under Old password enter the new activation code you have generated. As a Password enter **Welcome01!** and retype it. This will reset and remove the Customers password.
