Note that yellow fields are mandatory. ![null](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-AER8FV7R.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A03%3A41Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A03%3A41Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=pOqVJYQMQESBf%2Fv4cbp0GNSrx14YXSbWHYlvSRkC0Oc%3D)Fill in the Component Details in the popup. - Click **Save** when done. The new Component will be created, and you will be redirected to the [Component Details Page](/v414/docs/caps2025-components-details-pages) that was just created. Component pop-up fields: | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Company name (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Component to a predefined Company. | | Component groups (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Component to a Group defined in Settings . | | Short Name Characters 1-5 (mandatory) | Short Name for the Component. To learn more about constructing Short Names, see: [CAPS2025 Short Names](/v414/docs/caps2025-short-names). | | Type (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Type defined in Settings to a Component. | | Description table code (mandatory) | Descriptive name for the Component. | | Show type (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Show type defined in Settings to a Component. | | Socket weld (mandatory) | Lets user set Socket weld flag to a Component. | Notes: A Component is defined by a MESC code. The MESC code can be described with a Short Name (using an Application Code and a Material code). In addition to the Short Name two other properties are required to compose Piping classes. These properties are: - Type: Data field to define the rating and/or the wall thickness(es) of a Component - Show type: Data field to define the size(s) and/or the length of a Component The property Group has been added to be used as a filter to select a group of Components. The table below shows the relation between the properties: | **Group** | | **Type** | | | **Show Type** | | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | | FI | | | OT | PI | | | | A | Wall Th.
