# Creating new Piping classes

To create a Piping class:

- Go to the **Piping classes** [Main Screen](/v414/docs/piping-classes-main-menu).
- Click **+** to create a new Piping class.

- Enter the required data in the popup window. See the table below. Note that yellow fields are mandatory.

- Click **Save** when done.

The new Piping class will be created, and you will be redirected to the [detail page of the Piping class](/v414/docs/piping-classes-details-page) that was just created.

Piping class pop-up fields:

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Class (mandatory) | Name of the Piping class, often based on a standard naming convention. |
| Site | Lets user assign a Class to a predefined Site. |
| Material (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Material defined in Settings to a Class. |
| Rating (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Rating defined in Settings to a Class. |
| Branch table code (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Branch table defined in Settings to a Class. |
| Corrosion allowance (mandatory) | Lets user assign Corrosion allowance to a Class. |
| Comment | Notes about the Class. |
| Company (mandatory) | Lets user assign a Company defined in Settings to a Class. |
| Plant | Name of a Plant for the Class. |
| Consignee | Name of a Consignee for the Class. |
| Engineered by | Engineered by for the Class. |
| Principal | Principal for the Class. |
| Contract job no. | Contract job no. for the Class. |
| Project number | Project number for the Class. |
