# Creating New PLSS Equipment

Take noteThis overview will explain how to create new Equipment in IMS-PLSS.

Equipment can be created in Bulk through the [Data Import](/v2022-3/docs/importing-data-via-settings) feature in the **Settings**.

Alternatively, there are several places in the application from where you can add a new piece of Equipment, for example:

To create a new piece of Equipment:

- Click the *Plus* button.
- Enter the required data in the pop-up window.

Depending on the selected Equipment group a pop-up window will contain the following tab(s):

- **Equipment** tab only, for all the Equipment groups except "Pipelines", "Flowlines" and "Pipeline Jumpers".

Or

- **Equipment** and **Design Data** tabs for "Pipeline", "Flowline" and "Pipeline Jumper" Equipment groups.

The selection of the Equipment group for the Equipment is based on the FLOC Location Type. The list of FLOC Location Types together with their related Equipment groups see [FLOC Location Types and Equipment Groups](/v414/docs/creating-plss-flocs#floc-location-types-equipment-groups).

Note: if a piece of Equipment has been created, the Equipment group cannot be changed anymore. In case the Equipment group was wrongly selected the equipment has to be deleted first and then a new one should be created.
