Creating new PEI Equipment
Equipment can be created in Bulk through the data import feature.
Alternatively, there are several places in the application from where you can add a new piece of Equipment, for example:
Where to create a new Equipment from:
Section | Screenshot |
---|---|
Equipment Main Screen (Header bar) | |
FLOC Main Screen (Side info bar) | |
FLOC Details Page (Hierarchy section) |
To create an Equipment:
- Click + to create a new Equipment.
- Enter the required data in the pop-up window. See the table below.
- Click Save when done.
The new Equipment will be created, and you will be redirected to the detail page of the Equipment that was just created.
After the new Equipment has been added, IMS will automatically create:
- A DEFAULT Schedule (status ADMIN FINAL APPROVED) which acts as a “safety net” for which the minimal time interval is set to 12 months; and
- A GENERAL Component.
Note: An Equipment ID is valid until the Equipment is replaced. When replaced, a new Equipment ID will be assigned.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Parent ID | ID of the FLOC for the new Equipment. This is auto populated based on the object from which the + button was clicked |
Hierarchy | Hierarchy path for the new Equipment: Site, Plant, Unit. Note: the hierarchy is read-only. |
Equipment ID | Name of the Equipment, often based on a standard naming convention. |
Description | Short description for the new Equipment. |
SAP Equipment Nr. | Fill in if applicable. |
Equipment Group | Equipment Type of the new Equipment. The available options depend on the parent FLOC type. Note: This is configured in Settings. To see all the Equipment Groups, go to Settings \ Maintenance \ Configuration \ Configuration per Hierarchy Type. Then filter for Equipment groups. Or filter for Location Types to see which Equipment groups are assigned to a specific FLOC type. |
Start date | Effective start date, i.e. date of installation. |
Active | Should be checked for an active FLOC. |
Equipment Status | Equipment status definitions. "Retired Equipment": Equipment that has been isolated and decommissioned from the process with no plans for future use. "Idle in Place": Equipment that has been removed from service for a short period of time (typically less than 6 months) and planned to be recommissioned. "In Service": Installed and in operation. "In Construction": The equipment is being built and has not been placed in service yet. "Temp Out of Service": Equipment that will be out of service for long period of time. This tagging system is mostly used for AST that will be out of service for a while, not intended to be used for Equipment taken out of service due to a planned TA event. Note 1: The Equipment status will influence the Schedule options. Note 2: When the ECH of a "Temp Out of Service" Equipment is Final Approved, the Equipment Status will change to "In Service". |
