Take Note
This article covers the Hierarchy Spec Import. For general Data Import information refer to Importing Data via Settings.
The Hierarchy specs Import has been created to help mitigate Specs Import issues related to strict FLOC/Equipment specs import type configuration.
The Spec export for import has a hierarchy and site-specific implementation, under which only those specs that are present in the export file, can be imported. If you seek to import practically all specs (and not only on Floc and Equipment), you will need to use the Hierarchy specs Import template, as detailed below.
Importing Hierarchy Specs
To perform a Hierarchy spec Import via the appropriate template:
Go to Settings \ Data Transfer \ Import Data.
Go to the Hierarchy section.
Download the Hierarchy specs Template.
Fill the template in, taking note of the following:
For updating specs on Equipment, you must fill in Unit, Floc, and Equipment ID.
To configure the Spec for a given Equipment group, you must specify the Spec Name, Spec Category, Spec Qualifier, and Value.
When using this import type, the UoM (unit of measure) will always be the default unit of measure ("barg" in this case).
Sequence (column M) is used for updating multi-value Specs. When there is only a single value, it should be set to 1.
Go back to the Import Wizard and Click Browse and select your saved file.
Select the Hierarchy Spec import type.
Then follow the usual Importing Data Steps.
Working with process mode specs
IMS Specs support different processing modes, as outlined in the trailing example. The Hierarchy spec import can be used the update process mode specs by specifying the appropriate process mode in the Spec Category column.
Exporting Hierarchy Specs
To export Hierarchy Specs:
Check the checkbox(es) for the desired Equipment.
Click the Export button.
Click here to export for import Specs.
Remember that in this case only those specs that are present in the export file, can be imported. See Importing data via Settings.
