The Analysis Main screen shows an overview grid, with a list of SIF Analyses.
Listing SIF Analyses (the Overview Grid)
To see the list of SIF Analyses:
- Click to the SIF Analysis Main Menu.
- Use the scoping bar, the filter, or the search functionality to list the desired Analyses.
- The main grid will always show the approved data, if there is any. If desired, you can expand a SIF Analysis record using the button in the record row. This way the draft versions will also be visible.
- Each record shows several fields, summarizing the SIF Analyses (see Table 5). To see more, click on the Settings button in the toolbar and add additional fields.
Default Analyses data in the Analysis record:
Field /Column | Description |
---|---|
Expand | Expand or collapse an Analysis record using respectively the and button. This way the draft versions can also be shown. |
Select | Check to select an Analysis. |
Active | The Active flag shows for each SIF Analysis whether it is active or inactive: Active SIF Analysis Inactive SIF Analysis (A SIF Analysis is first inactive. After the first Approval it becomes active and remains so, also when a new Draft version is created.) |
Name | Name (ID) of the Analysis, click on the Analysis ID to open the Analysis details. |
Description | Short Description for the selected Analysis. |
Unit | Unit to which the Analysis is assigned to. |
Plant | Plant to which the Analysis is assigned to. |
AS | Assessment Status. The Assessment Status indicator turns green (OK) when a SIL (Target PFD) is available and:
|
DS | |
Final SIL | The final SIL level from the design. |
Function group | This can be used to group your SIF Analyses according to the Equipment they belong to. |
Error remarks | This is warnings generated by the SIF Analysis Consistency Check. You should to this before Approving the Design - see Approving the SIF Design. |
Review Status | This shows the Approval Status of the Analysis, for instance Draft, Writer Approved, Level 1 Approved, Final Approved. See Approving the SIF Design. |
Pending event type | Changes made to a Parent Object (e.g., SIF Analysis) are tracked via an Event, which is a draft of the Parent Object. All changes will be logged in a copy/trail of the Event up to the moment the Object is Final Approved. Then the Parent Object will be updated. Event types can, for instance be, “New LOPA Added”, “Changed” |
PS | Performance – OK or Not OK - see Verifying SIF Performance. |
FT | Fault Tolerance – OK or Not OK - see Verifying SIF Dangerous Fault Tolerance requirements. |
SC | Success Criteria – OK or Not OK - see Defining SIF Success Criteria. |
PFD | Probability of Failure on Demand - see Calculating SIF Achieved PFD and Verifying Integrity. |
RRF | Target Risk Reduction Factor |
Review Hold | This is applicable to all migrated SIF Analyses. When the review is completed the check must be removed. |
Tag labels | Custom labels which can be assigned to each record. |
For more information see Navigating IMS Main Menu Items and IMS Main Screen (Grid List).
SIF Analysis Menu Toolbar
There are several shortcuts or available features that the SIF Analysis toolbar can be used for, e.g., export SIF Analyses, add labels, etc. For more information see IMS Main Screen -Toolbar.
Take note:
- Normally a SIF Analysis is active after the first Final Approval.
- To delete a SIF Analysis it must be in Draft (and Inactive). Thus, Final Approved SIF Analyses cannot be deleted.
Batch PFD Calculations
You can perform batch PFD calculations on multiple SIF Analyses from the SIF Analysis Main Screen menu toolbar:
- Select the SIF Analyses that you would like to calculate.
- Click the Batch calculation button.
- The batch calculation dialog will open and show how many of the selected Analyses will be calculated. Only SIF Analyses in Draft will be calculated. Note: The dialog also contains a Show list button that can be used to see a detailed list of the SIF Analyses. Take NoteOnly SIF Analyses in Draft will be calculated.
- Click Calculate all.
- After the calculation, IMS will show how many SIF were calculated.
- You can click Show list to see the reasons for SIFs not calculated.
- Click Close when done.
Filtering SIF Analyses
From the SIF Analyses overview page, several filters can be used to drill down the search results for the shown list of Analyses. Filters include items such as:
- SIF Analysis name range
- Active
- Assessment on hold
- Design status
- Is safety critical
- Etc.
To filter a list:
- Click on the filter button.
- Check the filters that you want to use.
- Click Show ….
