FCM Release 3.13D

July 2021

IMS FCM provides overall integrity status for Flange connections: by managing critical Flanges during assembly and disassembly; by identifying when and what to inspect on Flange connections; and by following the recommended practices in AMS RP 4-07.

Version 3.13D brings new dashboard, new properties which can be captured in flange design, more transparent calculations and flagging over torquing on protocols.

New FCM Dashboards

IMSFB-19238

Two new dashboards are now available in FCM – “FCM Job Overview” and “FCM Overview NEW”

The FCM Overview NEW dashboard shows information about flanges in the system – their number, how many of them are critical or with unique design.

The FCM Job overview dashboard gives an overview of the Jobs. Also, the number of Jobs “Waiting for approval” shows. The numbers are hyperlinks. When the “Waiting for approval” number is clicked, then IMS will open a new tab listing all the Jobs that are “Waiting for approval”.

New Gasket Type and way to capture more gasket material information

A new Gasket Type was added to the list – “Spiral Wound Gasket LST” (LST – Low stress). The new gasket type can be selected in the Flange Design section, under “Recommended Specs”, and can also be specified in an Excel spreadsheet for import.

Beside the new option, new property is added called “Gasket Material Additional Info“ which can be used to capture any additional information about a gasket material.

Added Pipe Schedule on Flanges and Graylocs

IMSFB-18557

Based on “Flange Size” / “Grayloc Size”, and “Pipe Schedule”, IMS determines the “Pipe Wall Thickness”. It is determined from table ASME B36.10M-2018 - Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe.

Capture flange standard in flange design

IMSFB-20788

Specify the standard of the flanges which are used on the site. In Flange design section, a standard can be captured at the very top when designing a flange. FCM provides a dropdown but also an ability to enter some of the other standard which are not listed.

Available flange standard:

  • ASME B16.5
  • ASME B16.47
  • JIS
  • SAE
  • EN 1092-1
  • Other (user specified)

Capture Flange coating in Flange design

IMSFB-20145

Beside the stud coating, capture the flange coating in the Flange design section. The dropdown allows to capture any coating available in the IMS and additional ones can be configured.

Added new colour coding scheme for calculated and lookup values

A new colour coding scheme was added to the Design section. All the calculated values, as well as the values from the lookup tables (based on entered parameters), are coloured in green. If a user alters a value, or selects a value different from the suggested value, the field will be coloured in red to indicate a discrepancy with the standards. As before, recommended fields are coloured in blue, and optional fields remain white.

Flag over torquing of studs

IMSFB-19236

If the user overtorque a stud 10% above target value, IMS will flag it and show the warning message: “Overtorque detected: Please correct the value to be approximately the suggested value”.

Tracking of Heat Trace as Deenergized / Disconnected on ECH

IMSFB-19361

It is now possible to track the status of Heat Tracing as “Deenergized” and “Disconnected” in two distinct steps. In the “Disassembly” protocol, as show in Figure 7, it is possible to mark the heat trace as

  • Deenergized – circuit breaker is turned off, and
  • Disconnected – EHT stripped down from location.

Figure 8 shows the “Post Assembly” protocol where the user can select “Connected” and “Energized”.

Added Location Type - Flange-FLOC as default filter

IMSFB-20523

Location Type – “Flange-FLOC” and “Active” are now a default filters for the FLOC and Equipment main grids. When all filters are cleared (see below), the default filters will still be applied.

Removed Flange Sizes smaller than ½ inch

IMSFB-20789

To comply with ASME B16.5 standard (Table L-1), flange sizes smaller than a ½ inch have been removed from the dropdown, in the flange design section. Now only flange sizes from ½ up to 24 inches can be selected. The steps in flange size are in accordance with the ASME B16.5 standard.

Autofill ECH description from the Job description

IMSFB-17943

The ECH description will be auto filled from the Job description of the Job that is being credited. The user can however change the description.

User is no longer prefilled as a performer

IMSFB-19783

The person who creates an ECH is not always the person who is performing the job, therefore “Performed By” and “Reviewed By” are no longer auto filled with the username. Now a Performer can be selected from the search, or the name can be entered as a free text.

AUTO POPULATE “NO HEAT TRACE”

IMSFB-18582

When, in the Flange Design section, the “Heat Trace” property is set to “NO”, IMS will auto fill “NO HEAT TRACE” for Heat Trace LOTO in the Specs sheet.

Removed dropdowns for Flange Inner Diameter and Flange Outer Diameter

IMSFB-20540

The dropdowns have been removed and it is now possible to enter any value for the flange inner diameter (Flange ID) and outer diameter (Flange OD).

Changed names of Gasket OD and ID

As of 3.13D version, Gasket OD and Gasket ID fields on Flange design section are now called “Gasket sealing element outer diameter“ and „Gasket sealing element inner diameter“

Heat trace LOTO renamed to HEAT TRACE LOTO ID

IMSFB-16626

As shown in Figure 9, in the Specs section, the property “HEAT TRACE LOTO” was renamed to “HEAT TRACE LOTO ID”.
