Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) Corrosion

Prev Next

Summary

Concentrated hydrofluoric acid (HF) is used as a catalyst in HF alkylation units. Corrosion in HF alkylation units may be in the form of uniform corrosion, galvanic corrosion, hydrogen blistering, hydrogen induced cracking (HIC), and stress oriented hydrogen induced cracking (SOHIC). This degradation module addresses the wall loss as a result of corrosion in HF containing environment.
