The Piping Classification importer enables you to (bulk) add and edit a set of Specs tied to Flocs of type "PIPE-FLOC". In addition the Importer can be used to (bulk) create new Flocs with these Specs defined. The Piping Classification is achieved be defining Specifications on the PIPE-FLOCs as shown in the below image. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-V9ZM187W.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) Additional InstructionsTo learn more about defining Specs see: [IMS Details Page](/docs/ims-details-page-options#specs-section) To learn more about FLOCs see: [PEI Functional Locations (FLOCs)](/v414/docs/pei-flocs) ## Export for Import - Creating the Excel Spreadsheet In order to import the FLOC and SPEC data, you first need to create an Excel file. This is done through the Export for Import function. - Go to the FLOC Main Screen (grid list). - Select the desired FLOCs that you wish to update. - Click the *Export* button. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-QDFF1WH0.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Click **here** to export for Import Piping Classification. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%202(79).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - A spreadsheet will be download containing the data of the selected FLOCs. - Update the data (e.g., the SPEC values) as required. You can also add new FLOCs to the list. Take Note: - Be careful to leave all columns (and their headings) in place, including the blue placeholder columns as these are needed to ensure a successful alignment on import (else you will get errors during [Step 3 of the import](/docs/importing-data-via-settings#step3)). - The spec data can be of type string (e.g., von, nach, Medium) or numeric (e.g., Pmax1, Pmax2, PS1, PS2), but some also have available dropdowns with a predefined list of values, e.g.,  WGK, Fluidgruppe. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-H7XF00L3.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Save your file when done. ## Importing the Spreadsheet When your FLOC data have been Exported for Imported, update and saved, then you are ready to start the import. - Go to the FLOC Main Screen (grid list) and click the *Import* button. Alternatively go directly to [Settings \ Data Transfer \ Import Data](/v414/docs/importing-data-via-settings). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-0QEH73VN.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Select the Piping Classification Import Type. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-ING562G4.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Click **Browse**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-C785PRG1.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Select your save Excel spreadsheet. - Click **Next**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-VT2ZOL43.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T16%3A00%3A39Z&se=2026-10-28T17%3A00%3A39Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=8DPfqQkNGuqYb1aCT%2FuT1a88UBAqnV2Qy6MsD6j15Qs%3D) - Then continue to click **Next** until the import is Done. See [Importing Data via Settings](/docs/importing-data-via-settings#importing-data). ## Bulk Floc Creation You can also do and [Export for Import](/v414/docs/importing-flocs-with-piping-specs#export-for-import-creating-the-excel-spreadsheet) to create a template for (bulk) creating new FLOCs with Spec values set: - Do an [Export for Import](/v414/docs/importing-flocs-with-piping-specs#export-for-import-creating-the-excel-spreadsheet) for any example FLOC of type "PIPE-FLOC". - Then add all your new FLOCs with applicable data to the Excel spreadsheet. Don't forget the FLOC IDs! - Delete the row with the original example FLOC. - Save the file. - [Import the Excel spreadsheet](/v414/docs/importing-flocs-with-piping-specs#importing-the-spreadsheet). ## Spec Inheritance The MiRO specific FLOC Specs are by default [inherited](/docs/ims-details-page-options#inheriting-specs) by the FLOC's Equipment. When inheritance is set, the Equipment Spec values will automatically be updated when the FLOC Spec values change, irrespective of whether they are changed manual or via the importer. Additional InstructionsTo learn more about Spec Inheritance see: [IMS Details Page](/docs/ims-details-page-options#inheriting-specs) ## Importer visibility If this importer is not visible please [request support](/v414/docs/requestingsupport) as this importer needs to specifically be activated for MiRO.
