What is an Interface​?

In simple terms, an interface is a point of interaction between two or more systems. When we talk about Interfaces in IMS, we refer to the various methods that IMS can share information and resources with other software systems, such as:

  • IMS APIs: The IMS Developer Portal allows access to data in the IMS database for use in third party tools.

  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): SAP, Oracle, or Maximo, etc.

  • Digital Twin/Document Management Systems: Hexagon, Assai, Aveva, etc.
