Your selected Flange Connections will be added to the appropriate Flange or Grayloc Scope grids, depending on the equipment type. > [!NOTE] > Note: > > Jobs in FCM are considered to be a self-contained entity. Within a Job, Equipment Details can be edited without affecting the original Equipment, and without impacting other Jobs which include that Equipment. > > > > Conversely, when Flange Connections are added to a Job, the Job relies on the Equipment Details in effect when the Equipment was added to the Job. i.e.: the Job will not be **automatically** updated with any changes made to the original Equipment after that Equipment has been added to the Job. ### Synchronizing Changes to Flange Design After Equipment has been added to a Job, any changes to the Equipment Design will not be **automatically** reflected in the Job Scope. To synchronize changes to Equipment Design with your Job Scope: - Select the Equipment (Flange/Grayloc) for which you want to update design data. - Click the **Sync flange data from Equipment** button. For every FC, IMS shows a status based on the entered data. Possible FC statuses: - "Ready" (all ok) – all Recommended Specs and Tightening data are entered - "Ready" (warning) – Recommended Specs are missing, but Tightening data is entered - "Data is missing" – Tightening data is missing The Job cannot be Approved until, at least, the Tightening data, for all Flange or Grayloc Equipment, in Scope, is entered. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-J08GCRM3.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T00%3A33%3A15Z&se=2026-11-03T01%3A33%3A15Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=5z%2B61DWO6nSk02I6lACrbCxsqgFpAG%2F0QfQYMweFL%2Fs%3D) Flange Connection Status - Ready means all Tightening data has been entered for the Flange. ## Job Specific Information The Job’s Scope Section shows each FC’s Tightening data and Recommended Specs. There is also some additional Job parameters that can be Edited. To Edit the data in the Job Scope: - Go to the Flange Scope / Grayloc Scope section. - Click the *Edit* button. Editable information fields for Flanges are: - Strategy (see [Creating Flange and Grayloc Equipment](/v414/docs/creating-flange-and-grayloc-equipment)) - Hot Bolting - Half Bolting - Tool (search the Bolting Tool list) - Grounding - Blinding - Blind LOTO - Oxygen Editable information fields for Graylocs are: - Strategy (see [Creating Flange and Grayloc Equipment](/v414/docs/creating-flange-and-grayloc-equipment)) - Clamp Size - Heat Trace LOTO Note: Bolting Tools can also be assigned to one or more FCs by clicking the **Assign Tool** button. See Section 8 for more information on Bolting Tools. ## Exporting a Workpack, Generating Reports and Printing Labels You can use the *export* button to export an FCM Workpack. FCM Workpacks include information such as Flange name, Flange location, Strategy, Flange size and rating, Gasket type and material, Job description, etc. This can also be done in bulk from the Jobs or Protocols Main grid.
