What: To do 'Manage Equipment Care' activities, the MEC board enables a graphic overview of the preventive tasks and allows for further alignment.
To get the MEC board icons visible you need to tick the MEC box in your user-account:
The MEC board icons are available in Floc grid, Equipment grid and Systems grid:
So basically: you can make or Floc, or Equipment, or System selections.
Also the MEC board icons are available in the indiviual Floc, Equipment and Systems detailed screens.
It is recommended before you enter the MEC board to pin your selection.
This helps to zoom in more data in the connected grids.
In the MEC board 4 main overviews are provided:
- Long-term maintenance cost profile
- Average maintenance cost per year vs. MEI (cumulative)
- Total maintenance cost per year per CMMS Type
- MEI vs. maintenance cost per year per Failure mode
The MEC board overview can give you insight on:
- Are there large difrerences in cost in particular years? Why/ Why not?
- Which Equipment types contribute to high cost?
- Which high cost analyses are involved in low MEI scores?
- Is there a 'cut-off' point in the accumulated Cost/MEI view, which may be used to set a MEI threshold?
From these insights you can zoom in the data for better alignment or optimization.
Why:
When RCM analyses and RSL application is done, two additional steps need to be made:
- Task alignment of timing, frequencies and costs.
- Grouping of tasks for efficient execution.
The first step: Task alignment of timing, frequencies and costs is done in the MEC board.
Taks optimization can be done in guided steps, starting with Task optimization.
