Examples from API 571 of fatigue caused by cyclic loading are: - thermal cycling in daily operation (e.g. decoking, intermittent service) - pressure cycling in daily operation (e.g. pressure swing absorbers). Fatigue by cyclic loading is an age related damage mechanism.
