See the table below. - Click **Save** when done. The new Circuit will be created, and you will be redirected to the Details Page of the Circuit that was just created. After the new Circuit has been added, IMS will automatically create: - A Corrosion Schedule (status ADMIN FINAL APPROVED). Each active Circuit should have one active Corrosion Schedule that acts as a “safety net” for which the minimal time interval is set (12 months); and - An Event History record for this new Circuit (Crct Added). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/creating-new-pei-circuits-image-3l7s5l4a.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T12%3A39%3A10Z&se=2026-10-28T13%3A39%3A10Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=EpBheNgSj4Vt1B29il0WR%2FXVPoZ8n0Crrq71NjWc%2Bio%3D) Circuit pop-up fields: | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Equipment ID | This field is auto populated based on the object from which you are creating the Circuit. | | Hierarchy | Hierarchy path for this Circuit (read-only). | | Circuit | It is advised to use the MiRO naming convention when defining the Circuit ID. | | Active | Indicator whether the Circuit is active or inactive. | | Inspection Reason | Inspection Reason of the Circuit. When the inherit is active the Inspection Reason is inherited from the FLOC. The Inspection Reason determines the Time-Based Interval. You can select the default defined for the Circuit. | | IDAP Status | NA | | IDAP Status Comment | NA | | Longitude / Latitude / Altitude | Geographic location based on coordinates on a map. | | Suggested Corrosion Rate | Select the default. This is a mandatory field. However, this is only used in the standard IMS Corrosion Calculations and will not influence the M-IDAP calculations. | | IF Strategy | Interval Factor (IF) Strategy, either IMS or SRBI. If SRBI is selected the SRBI calculated IF will be linked to the Circuit to be used in the Corrosion Schedule NID calculation. The linked Component should, in this case, be analyzed for at least one AR DM. When there is no SRBI IF the Circuit will default to the IMS IF. This is a mandatory field, but does not influence the M-IDAP calculations. | | Interval Factor | IMS Interval Factor, default can be used based on Equipment Group. This is a mandatory field, but is not used in the M-IDAP calculations. | | RBI Interval Factor | When [Circuit inherits](/v414/docs/pei-circuits-details-page) from Component, (worst) RBI Interval Factor from linked Component is being used. (read-only) | | RBI Inspection Strategy | The RBI [Inspection Strategy (IS)](/v414/docs/step-11-review-the-results-nid-mii-is-inspection-effectiveness) is shown if applicable. (read-only) | | Inherit Components | If the related Component(s) are already created, you can select the inherit Components now. You can also set the inheritance at a later stage or on the [Component Details page](/v414/docs/pei-components-details-page). This links the Component IF to the Circuit and the Circuit specs (also CR and RCA) to the Components. Also, the CL to which the Component is linked, will be linked to the Circuit. See [Relationship between CLs, Components and Circuits](/v414/docs/relationship-between-cls-components-and-circuits). | | Corrosion Loop | If Corrosion Loop is empty, the Equipment is not [assigned to a Corrosion Loop](/v414/docs/linking-circuits-to-cls). | | CL Component | The Corrosion Loop of the inherited Component (read only), only populated when Circuit is inherited with a Component. See [Relationship between CLs, Components and Circuits](/v414/docs/relationship-between-cls-components-and-circuits). | | Required Inspection Method | You can set a required Inspection Method (e.g. UT, RT, UT-R) for all measurement for the Circuit (optional). This is not mandatory and can also be set on the MSET itself. | | Description | Short description for the Circuit. | | Special Emphasis | In case of Pipe and Pipe System Equipment, the [Special Emphasis](/v414/docs/special-emphasis-overview) can be populated (when there is no pending event). The classification chosen determines the Maximum Inspection Interval (MII) allowed for the Calculation Summary and Corrosion Schedule. | | Enable EVA | For Equipment of type bundles, you can enable [Extreme Value Analysis (EVA)](/v414/docs/eva-overview) calculations. In this case an additional field will appear to enter the Number of tubes. | | Calculation Method | NA for M-IDAP calculations. | | Ignore Calculation Interval | NA for M-IDAP calculations. | | Enable MIDAP | Make sure this is checked to enable the M-IDAP corrosion calculations. | Next Inspection Date (= LID + MII) Remaining Corrosion Allowance Root Cause Analyses Corrosion Loop Confidence Level Causal Learning Ultrasonic Inspection Radiographic Testing Remaining Thickness Radiography Inspection UT-R = UT w/RT Validation Measurement Set
