A piping class definition contains the basic information to compose a piping class. Entering a new piping class definition or editing an existing one may be done from the *Piping Classes* menu. Referential data may be edited using the menu items of the *Settings* menu. New data can be entered into the database manually, using the CAPS2025 web application. However, to facilitate bulk loading of *Components* data (i.e. MESC numbers and other attributes describing a *Component*), an option is available to load *Components* data from a file. The attributes (characteristics) of the items stored in the CAPS2025 database are shown as column names. ## Piping Class Definition A piping class is based on a piping class definition containing key data to compose a piping class. Via the key data, the program is able to retrieve the relevant descriptions and MESC numbers. The key data is stored under the tabs of the window that is displayed by clicking on the hyperlink under column Class: - *Details* - *Revisions* - *Schedule* - *Design Limit* - *Component* - *Assembly* - *Note* - *Branch component* - *Attachment* The functions of the windows are described below. Where description fields are not explained, the description can be found in the Glossary of Terms.
