# PL External Corrosion Example: Introduction to Test Cases

> These Appendices describe how to enter data for the Past and Future corrosion rate and the Morphology (General, Grooving, or Pitting) will be described in the External Corrosion Module manually or in Bulk.

This appendix outlines four distinct scenarios based on whether data is entered manually or in bulk, and whether a Schedule is available or not.

You can go through the test cases, as an exercise, by first performing the following steps:

1. Download the import file to your computer and unpack it.
2. Import Pipeline Equipment:
  - Go to the FLOC Main Screen.
  - Search for the FLOC "FLOC EC External Corrosion Test Case” and, if present, [delete the Equipment](https://ims-handbook.cenosco.com/v414/docs/plss-equipment-details-page#deleting-equipment) under it.
  - If the applicable FLOC does not exist, [create a FLOC](https://ims-handbook.cenosco.com/v414/docs/creating-plss-flocs) with FLOC ID "FLOC EC External Corrosion Test Case".
  - Navigate to [Settings \ Data Transfer \ Data Import](/v414/docs/importing-data-via-settings).
  - Select the Pipeline Equipment template*.*

  - Click **Browse.**
  - Select the file "01 Import FLOC Equipm MAOP External Corrosion via ECH.xlsx" from your computer.
  - Click **Next.**
  - Select "Pipeline Equipment" from the drop-down menu.

  - Click **Next** two more times, and the Pipeline Equipment “EC External Corrosion Test Case P1” to “EC External Corrosion Test Case P6” will be created.
3. Import MAOP:
  - On the Data Import page, select MAOP history.
  - Click **Browse.**
  - Select the file "01 Import FLOC Equipm MAOP External Corrosion via ECH.xlsx" from your computer.
  - Click **Next** a few times.
