# PL External Corrosion Example: Test Case 1

> This overview will explain how to add data to the External corrosion module in PLSS when the Schedule is not available and the data needs to be added manually to the ECH.

In this case the Past and Future corrosion rates and the corrosion morphology should be specified on Equipment Type “Pipeline” with the Equipment ID “EC External Corrosion Test Case P1”.

To enter the data:

- Navigate to the Equipment Details Page of the Eqipment "EC External Corrosion Test Case P1".
- Scroll to the Condition History section.

- [Create an ECH](/v414/docs/step-a-creating-echs) with the Description “External corrosion case 1”
- On the ECH Details Page, in the Schedules credited section, click the **SELECT** button in the "Event or Opportunity driven" card.

- In the Checklist section, click on **GENERAL**.
- In the Actions Performed column click on “What was done and where?”
- Find "External Corrosion Assessment" and in the UOM value column, from the drop-down menu select "YES".

Create 3 sections with the following data:

| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 0 | 800 | 0.05 | 0.05 | Pitting |
| 800 | 640 | 0.1 | 0.11 | General |
| 1440 | 1560 | 0.05 | 0.05 | General |

  

- Click on the *Plus* button in the ECH grid.
- Fill in the data.
- Click **Save**.
