This online manual explains the Functional Locations (FLOCs) in IMS:
- How to interpret and use the FLOC Main Screen (Grid List).
- How to interpret and use the FLOC Details Page.
- How to create a new FLOC.
Locations are organized in Site – Plant – Unit – Functional Location (FLOC). These are the highest hierarchy levels in IMS.
FLOCs typically have specific operating parameters: flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and fluid composition. FLOC IDs never change, at least until the Unit or the FLOC is retired. Generally, each FLOC has one child, which is a piece of Equipment (with an Equipment ID).
Details for Sites, Plants, and Units are registered and organized in Settings\Company\Toplevel (see Configuring the Toplevel via Settings), while the Functional Locations (FLOCs) are registered in the FLOC Main Screen (see Creating PLSS FLOCs).
The FLOC Main screen shows an overview grid, with a list of FLOCs (see PLSS FLOC Main Screen). The FLOC Details Page is where the FLOC is defined. From here Equipment can be added to the FLOC (see PLSS FLOC Details Page).
