Release 4.7

Note: These Release Notes only cover specific SIS enhancements. All other enhancements, not related to specific disciplines, are described in the IMS Platform (General) Release Notes.

Improved syncing of FMEA data between Equipment and SIF Analyses

New logic have been introduced to store the SIF design FMEA data independently from the related Equipment FMEA data.

Key Updates:

  • When a SIF Analysis is Final Approved, IMS will now:

    • Overwrite the related Equipment FMEA data with the approved SIF design FMEA data.

    • Change the status of any other SIF Analyses linked to the same Equipment back to DRAFT.

    • Update all other SIF Analysis records associated with that Equipment accordingly.

  • When an Equipment FMEA is modified, all related SIF Analyses will automatically revert to DRAFT status. (This logic remains unchanged.)

User Instructions

To learn more about reviewing and updating the FMEA data see Designing SIF Subsystems (Building the Hardware Configuration).

Enhanced Object Lifecycle Management (Deletion & Retirement)

This update introduces a structured, role-based system for deleting and retiring HAZOPs, LOPAs, SIF Analyses, and Equipment Actors. These improvements ensure the preservation of historical data integrity and traceability. We have added a Lifecycle Status (LS) field in addition to the Review Status to reflect the objects’ review / retirement status.

User Instructions

To learn how to retire objects, about the rules associated with deletion and retirement, and about the new Lifecycle status see Deletion & Retirement (SIS Object Lifecycle Management).
