Small Bore Connections

Take Note
There are some specific cases where the S-RBI assessment approach in IMS PEI changes, depending on the Equipment/Component type.
This section gives guidance for Small Bore Connections.

Define Asset – Step 1

See Step 1.

Small Bore piping is ≤ 2", often these are Deadlegs. In some cases, when they are used as drains or draw offs, these could be the main pipe. In these cases, the "stand-alone" piping could be the 2" main line and then the bleeders/vents would be the Deadlegs.

Barrier Verification – Step 12 & Step 13

See Step 12 and Step 13.

For small bore piping <2” it is recommended to perform profile RT.
