# Target Gasket Stress

Based on Target Bolt Stress, if all values are available, IMS calculates a suggested Target Gasket Stress with the following formula:

$Target\ Gasket\ Stress = \frac{Target\ Bolt\ Stress}{\left[\frac{Area\ of\ Gasket}{Number\ of\ Bolts\ *\ Bolt\ Root\ Area}\right]}$
