Here the SIS Admin user can list your Site’s Top Events and define which require a Hazard.
The Top Events are normally pre-configured as part of the initial setup of the IMS SIS database. Top Events are used in the HAZOP details where you can select a Top Event, such as “Loss Of Containment”, that can then be associated with a certain Hazard, from the Hazards and Effect Register. When the check marks to the right of the Top Event are checked, this means that, when that Top Event is selected in the HAZOP, a Hazard, from the Hazards and Effect register, must be assigned to it. If it is not checked, the HAZOP chair can freely add consequence severities for People, Assets, Community, and Environment to the Top Event, in the HAZOP. See Defining Consequences (HAZOP) to learn how to add Top Events to a HAZOP.
The Hazards are defined in the Hazard and Effect register available in Settings \ Maintenance \ SIS Specific data \ HAZOP \ HAZOP and effect register.
