An IMS account requires to have at least one PEI role assigned to allow access to the PEI module. Roles are assigned in Security Settings.
If multiple Roles are assigned to an account, the highest Role will grant rights. For example, if both PEI VIEWER and INSP GENERAL roles are assigned, the account rights will be those of INSP GENERAL.
Shared Rights
Most roles have by default access to Action items, Custom Queries, Reports, and Labels as well as the ability to edit the current account settings.
Common PEI Roles
PEI VIEWER - grants read-only access to the PEI module.
INSP TECH - CML creation and Measurements entry.
RBI - grants updates in the RBI module, including CMF, IOW, and PLE. Further rights are granted as follows:
Corrosion Loop, Component, Schedule, ECH creation and detail updates.
Component specs creation and updates.
Equipment Install Date and Strategy narrative updates.
CCD editing and approval.
INSP SIMPLE IMS - grants access to create and edit ECHs and Schedules on Equipment groups whitelisted for assigned Discipline(s).
INSP GENERAL - grants a wide range of editing rights across the PEI module, including but not limited to creating and editing Flocs, Equipment, Circuits, Components, ECHs, Schedules, and Dashboards. Only read access is granted to RBI and Corrosion Loops.
INSP ADMIN - grants similar rights to INSP GENERAL without certain limitations. In addition, this role has administration privileges (IMS user accounts, site settings, etc).
Take Note
FLOC and Equipment editing rights as stated above may be further limited due to Hierarchy ownership, Disciplines or the CMMS interface. Some of the CMMS interface limitations will not apply to the INSP ADMIN role.

The following Roles have been flagged as expired starting from March 21st, 2022:
