# PL External Corrosion - Degradation Management

The Degradation Management section of the External Corrosion Assessment module provides an overview of [Degradation Mechanisms](https://ims-handbook.cenosco.com/v410/docs/defining-the-degradation-mechanisms) related to External Corrosion. This applies only to Equipment assigned to a System with Degradation Mechanisms leading to External Corrosion.

The data in this section, is the same as the data in the Degradation Management section in the [PLSS Systems Details Page](/v410/docs/plss-systems-details-page). However, only the Degradation Mechanisms related to External Corrosion will be shown. These are specified in the Settings/Maintenance/RBI Specific data/Degradation where you can see whether the Degradation Mechanism is shown in the External Corrosion Module or the Internal one.
