# Action Items Settings

Action Items settings can be changed / configured by an IMS Admin user. To access the Action Items Settings:

- Select **Settings** at the top of the IMS Main Screen.

Once in Settings:

- Navigate to Maintenance -> Common Data -> Action Items.
- Select **Statuses** or **Categories** to edit the tables of options for the associated combo boxes.

**Sequence** governs the order that the options will be displayed in the appropriate combo boxes.

For **Status**, each Status can be assigned one of two **States**, **Open** (yellow) or **Closed** (green). An Action Item's **State** will be marked Open or Closed depending on the Status assigned to it.
