This section is used to configure Roles, and Users. ## Roles Each user can have one or more Roles assigned. The Role determines what the user can view and edit in CAPS2025. The available Roles can be viewed here. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-MUFS5NNL.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A36%3A00Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A36%3A00Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=A2PvQPCuOGbPHidZOeYjIsBIYbsh47XG2EYqG5znxco%3D)CAPS2025 Roles Overview The following matrix displays the permissions that each of the roles is assigned in CAPS2025: | Role | CSA & PCA | PE | PU | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Data\Right | Read, Create, Delete, Edit | Read | Create | Edit, Delete | Read | | Branch notes | + | + | | | + | | Branch tables | + | + | + | Only on company assigned | + | | Note | + | + | + | Only on company assigned | + | | Materials | + | + | | | + | | Bolt sets | + | + | | | + | | Companies | + | + | | | + | | Component groups | + | + | | | + | | Inches | + | + | | | + | | Schedules | + | + | | | + | | Rating | + | + | | | + | | USC Conversion | + | + | | | + | | Assembly | + | + | + | Only on company assigned | + | | Component | + | + | | Only on company assigned | + | | Edit CMT Common Data | + | + | | Only on company assigned | + | | Custom Query | + | + | + | Only on company assigned | + | | Users | + Only CSA and PCA can create User Activation Codes. | + | | | + | The following matrix displays the permission for each of the Roles used in CMT2025: | Role | CSA & CMTA | CMTU | | --- | --- | --- | | **Data\Permissions** | **Read, Create, Delete, Edit** | **Read** | | Noun - Modifier Character Type | **+** | **+** | | Character Type Item | **+** | **+** | | Product Group | **+** | **+** | | Synoym | **+** | **+** | | Unit of Measure | **+** | **+** | | Standard Institute with Standard Set | **+** | **+** | | Additional Document (oh hold) | **+** | **+** | | Users | **+** | - | | Application Settings | **Only CSA** | - | | Short Name Position Sequence | **+** | **+** | ## Users The Users section shows all registered CAPS2025 Users. The search field can be used to search for specific users. The user list can also be filtered by user account properties. Users can also be added, deleted, or edited by the CSA. When a new user is added, or an existing user is being edited, an Activation Code can be generated. Non-active directory users require an Activation Code for first time login or to reset their passwords. Note: Only the CSA and PCA role can generate activation codes for users. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201(474).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A36%3A00Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A36%3A00Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=A2PvQPCuOGbPHidZOeYjIsBIYbsh47XG2EYqG5znxco%3D) Only The Activation Code.  For Users that received an Activation Code, it is recommended after first login to set a new password in [My Account](/v414/docs/navigating-caps2025-main-menu-items#my-account). ## Password Reset Non-active directory users can also request new passwords, when forgotten, via the login screen. A reset link is shown on the login screen. When the link is clicked, a modal will pop-up asking for the username. When a password reset is requested, an email is sent to the user with a temporary link, which the user can click to receive an Activation Code. With the Activation Code, the user can log in. He/she then needs to set a new password in [My Account](/v414/docs/navigating-caps2025-main-menu-items#my-account). This way CAPS2025 provides new passwords to users in a secure environment. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201(454).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A36%3A00Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A36%3A00Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=A2PvQPCuOGbPHidZOeYjIsBIYbsh47XG2EYqG5znxco%3D)To change your password, go to My Account. Note: A user account must have a defined email address to receive a password reset link.
