[Create an ECH](/v414/docs/step-a-creating-echs). 2. [Detail the ECH](/v414/docs/step-b-detailing-echs). 3. [Credit a Schedule or specify if Event or opportunity driven](/v414/docs/step-c-crediting-schedules). 4. In the Inspection Data and Codes section all [Approved Forms](/v414/docs/approving-new-dynamic-forms) (depending on the [defined Conditions](/v414/docs/defining-conditions-for-dynamic-forms)) will be displayed. Select your Dynamic Form Checklist from the dropdown. The selected Form will be displayed. 5. Click on a Stage card to start filling in the Form. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201(393).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A47%3A52Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A47%3A52Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ijn5lEewp%2BriX69uAs73rFBnHWtOUgdaXfWA%2F3jVyks%3D) Click the Stage card to start filling in the Checklist. > [!NOTE] > Note > > To avoid potential data integrity issues, users should avoid working on the same Stage in a Checklist at the same time. ## Dynamic Forms Autosave When completing fields on a Dynamic Form, answers should be saved automatically when the content changes for most control types. For Rich text, Numeric, Text area and Text control types, the contents of the field will be saved when the focus is moved outside of the field. However, under certain circumstances, such as a very slow internet connection or a temporary loss in connectivity, answers may not be saved immediately. When this occurs, your response should be displayed in blue while it is still being saved to the database. Once the response has been saved, it will appear black. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/AutoSave.gif?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A47%3A52Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A47%3A52Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ijn5lEewp%2BriX69uAs73rFBnHWtOUgdaXfWA%2F3jVyks%3D) Answers in Blue Indicate that the Data has not yet been Saved. ## Adding Observations to Dynamic Forms Add Observations if applicable (comments, [annotated attachments](/v414/docs/ims-details-page-options#attachments-section) / photos, and location). > [!NOTE] > Note > > The Observation button only becomes visible after data has been added to the field. This is because an Observation is an addition to the field data. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201(394).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A47%3A52Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A47%3A52Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ijn5lEewp%2BriX69uAs73rFBnHWtOUgdaXfWA%2F3jVyks%3D) Click the three dots to add an Observation. ## Annotating Images Attached to Checklists You can annotate images attached to your Dynamic Forms Checklists by using the Annotation Tool. To annotate an Image: 1. Upload an image to your Checklist. 2. Select the image in the Observation Item box and click **Annotate, OR,** click on the image thumbnail in your checklist. 3. Add annotations, as desired. 4. Click **Save** in the top right corner of the annotation tool. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-TO1URHOW.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A47%3A52Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A47%3A52Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=ijn5lEewp%2BriX69uAs73rFBnHWtOUgdaXfWA%2F3jVyks%3D) Annotate Images Attached to your Checklists. ## Creating a CAIR Schedule You can always create a CAIR Schedule from the Schedules section. For more information, see [Viewing and Creating new Schedules](/v414/docs/step-f-viewing-and-creating-new-schedules-cairs-from-ech). In case your checklist is [configured](/v414/docs/defining-lookups-for-dynamic-forms) to enable you to do so, you can also click the **Create a CAIR Schedule** button on both the Checklist Overview and each of the stages where you recorded an issue. ## Completing an ECH After capturing your data in the Checklist you still need to [write the Narrative](/v414/docs/step-e-writing-narratives). To review the data see [Reviewing collected Checklist Data](/v414/docs/reviewing-collected-checklist-data). For Shell: For more information on the Global Piping System Checklist and Global Exchanger Checklist see [Shell PEI Training Material](/v414/docs/shell-pei-training-material).
