See the table below. - Click **Save** when done. The new Circuit will be created, and you will be redirected to the [detail page](/v414/docs/pei-circuits-details-page) of the Circuit that was just created. After the new Circuit has been added, IMS will automatically create: - A Corrosion Schedule (status ADMIN FINAL APPROVED). Each active Circuit should have one active Corrosion Schedule that acts as a “safety net” for which the minimal time interval is set (12 months); and - An Event History record ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/creating-new-pei-circuits-image-3l7s5l4a.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T11%3A52%3A46Z&se=2026-10-28T12%3A52%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kU7FFEi%2BBCRF%2Bs2790R3DXvo3fCjHtfSD%2FO%2BphJfQ2M%3D) for this new Circuit (Crct Added). Circuit pop-up fields: | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | Equipment ID | This field is auto populated based on the object from which you are creating the Circuit. | | Hierarchy | Hierarchy path for this Circuit (read-only). | | Circuit | It is advised to use some rules when defining the Circuit ID. E.g.: \| **ID** \| **Description** \| \| --- \| --- \| \| A \| Primary Circuit ID designator, regardless of Equipment group or material. \| \| B \| Separates different material from primary Circuit ID A. In some cases, can use to separate CMLs with higher CR as the main Circuit A. \| \| DL \| Unstable Corrosion Deadlegs. \| \| IP \| Injection Points. \| \| MP \| Mixing Points. \| \| R \| Tank roof. \| \| Y \| Stable corrosive Deadlges with different material from primary Deadlegs. \| \| Z \| Primary Circuit ID for stable corrosive Deadlegs. \| | | **ID** | **Description** | | A | Primary Circuit ID designator, regardless of Equipment group or material. | | B | Separates different material from primary Circuit ID A. When the inherit is active ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/creating-new-pei-circuits-image-sbh8dce9.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T11%3A52%3A46Z&se=2026-10-28T12%3A52%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kU7FFEi%2BBCRF%2Bs2790R3DXvo3fCjHtfSD%2FO%2BphJfQ2M%3D) the Inspection Reason is inherited from the FLOC. The Inspection Reason determines the Time-Based Interval (see [Calculation Summary](/v414/docs/tab-summarymessages)) and if [PERF](/v414/docs/tab-corr-rates-if) is used. The CLASS 4 Inspection Reason will never apply [PERF](/v414/docs/tab-corr-rates-if). The list of available Inspection Reasons is set in [Settings \ Maintenance \ Inspections/Schedules \ Inspection Reason](/v414/docs/inspection-schedules-settings). | | IDAP Status | Column [IDAP](/v414/docs/pei-sidap-overview) Status shows the actual state of the analysis and the required action: - Analysis not started - Analysis new data - Analysis in progress - Analysis completed, action required - Analysis completed, no action required - Analysis no data - None | | IDAP Status Comment | Short comment regarding the [IDAP](/v414/docs/pei-sidap-overview) Status | | Longitude / Latitude / Altitude | Geographic location based on coordinates on a map. | | Suggested Corrosion Rate | Suggested rate, when Default is checked ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/creating-new-pei-circuits-image-c63shm1z.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T11%3A52%3A46Z&se=2026-10-28T12%3A52%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kU7FFEi%2BBCRF%2Bs2790R3DXvo3fCjHtfSD%2FO%2BphJfQ2M%3D) the rate is based on the default rate based on Equipment Group. See [Corrosion Rate Calculations – Details](/v414/docs/corrosion-rate-calculations-details). Note: The suggested CR can be used to influence the CR used in the [Calc Summary](/v414/docs/the-calculation-summary), or as starting point when there are no measurements. | | IF Strategy | Interval Factor (IF) Strategy, either IMS or SRBI. If SRBI is selected the SRBI calculated IF will be linked to the Circuit to be used in the Corrosion Schedule NID calculation. The linked Component should, in this case, be analyzed for at least one AR DM. When there is no SRBI IF the Circuit will default to the IMS IF. See [Tab: Corr Rates IF](/v414/docs/tab-corr-rates-if). | | Interval Factor | IMS Interval Factor, default can be used ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/creating-new-pei-circuits-image-io6mja85.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T11%3A52%3A46Z&se=2026-10-28T12%3A52%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kU7FFEi%2BBCRF%2Bs2790R3DXvo3fCjHtfSD%2FO%2BphJfQ2M%3D) based on Equipment Group. See [Tab: Corr Rates IF](/v414/docs/tab-corr-rates-if). | | RBI Interval Factor | When [Circuit inherits](/v414/docs/pei-circuits-details-page) from Component, (worst) RBI Interval Factor from linked Component is being used. (read-only) | | RBI Inspection Strategy | The RBI [Inspection Strategy (IS)](/v414/docs/step-11-review-the-results-nid-mii-is-inspection-effectiveness) is shown if applicable. (read-only) | | Inherit Components | If the related Component(s) are already created, you can select the inherit Components now. You can also set the inheritance at a later stage or on the [Component Details page](/v414/docs/pei-components-details-page). Note: This links the Component IF to the Circuit and the Circuit specs (also CR and RCA) to the Components. Also, the CL to which the Component is linked, will be linked to the Circuit. See [Relationship between CLs, Components and Circuits](/v414/docs/relationship-between-cls-components-and-circuits). | | Corrosion Loop | If Corrosion Loop is empty, the Equipment is not [assigned to a Corrosion Loop](/v414/docs/linking-circuits-to-cls). | | CL Component | The Corrosion Loop of the inherited Component (read only), only populated when Circuit is inherited with a Component. See [Relationship between CLs, Components and Circuits](/v414/docs/relationship-between-cls-components-and-circuits). | | Required Inspection Method | You can set a required Inspection Method (e.g. UT, RT) for all measurement for the Circuit (optional). | | Description | Short description for the Circuit. | | Special Emphasis | In case of Pipe and Pipe System Equipment, the [Special Emphasis](/v414/docs/special-emphasis-overview) can be populated (when there is no pending event). The classification chosen determines the Maximum Inspection Interval (MII) allowed for the Calculation Summary and Corrosion Schedule. | | Schedlue Default | Allows you to select the [Corrosion Schedule Default](https://ims-handbook.cenosco.com/v414/docs/inspection-schedules-settings#corrosion-schedule-defaults) (Schedule Category and Schedule Driver combination) to be automatically applied to newly created Corrosion Schedules. | | Enable EVA | For Equipment of type bundles, you can enable [Extreme Value Analysis (EVA)](/v414/docs/eva-overview) calculations. In this case an additional field will appear to enter the Number of tubes. | | Calculation Method | Applied Calculation method, either: - PLR, PSR, CAR, LR (including Circuit averages) – calc 1 - PLR, PSR, LR – calc 2 Default Calc Method is set automatically based on Equipment Group for the Circuit. This also determines if the system checks for data scatter - only calc 1 does. Calc 1 should be used when there is a low confidence in the corrosion measurements (e.g. Aircooler, Bundle, Furnace, Incinerator, Pipe). See [Corrosion Rate Calculations – Details](/v414/docs/corrosion-rate-calculations-details). | | Ignore Calculation Interval | When checked, the Circuit ignores the calculated rates for the Next Inspection Date of the Circuit, only time interval will be applied. See [Remnant Life (RL) and Next Inspection Date (NID) Calculations](/v414/docs/remnant-life-rl-and-next-inspection-date-nid-calculations). |
