# Defining ALARP descriptions

For each [Consequence](/v414/docs/defining-the-consequences-for-each-hazop-deviation) in the HAZOP, you can enter an ALARP description:

- Click on the ALARP card next to the Consequence (and Exiting safeguards).
- Enter a description for the ALARP:
  - Click on the card and start typing; or

If a [LOPA is created](/v414/docs/creating-new-lopas) for the Consequence the associated ALARP note will also be [synced](/v414/docs/syncing-the-hazop-with-connected-lopas) between the LOPA and HAZOP.
