In the Design section – specify the design input: - Tightening Step 1 - Clamp Size - used to determine Torque. See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). - Stud Size - auto filled with default value. See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). - Wrench Size - auto filled with default value. See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). - Tightening Step 2 - Hub Size - auto filled with default value, which is equal to the Clamp Size. - IMS determines minimum Torque (this is the 150% Torque). See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). - Click the arrow **<** to apply the calculated Torque value, or - Input another value. Note: A warnings is given if this is below the calculated value. - Also 50% Torque, 100% Torque, and 200% Torque is calculated. - Seal Ring size (dropdown) – This does not influence the Torque calculation but is needed to determine the Stand Off Range. See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). Note: Predefined Default values can be changed. - Recommended Specs– Flange management recommendations: - Stud Grade (dropdown) - Nut Material (dropdown) - Clamp material (dropdown) - Shrouded ("yes"/"no") - Hub Material (dropdown) - Seal ring material (dropdown) - Bolt Quantity - Hub Thickness - Seal Angle - Seal length - Non-Erosion Ring (dropdown) - Heat Trace LOTO – Lock Out Tag Out - Bolting Tool - Drawing - Pipe Schedule - Click **Save** when done. IMS determines the Specs (e.g. Stand Off Range, Tolerance, Reading over ¼ Ball, Seal Ring Range, HC, and Torque Values) from the above defined values. See [Appendix B: Grayloc Calculations](/v414/docs/smx-torque-lookup). ![A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/grayloc-equipment-design-and-calculations-image-9am1loqs.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T00%3A30%3A59Z&se=2026-11-03T01%3A30%3A59Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=MHO83u8m2%2FENkvmg%2BDiP%2BiLZqEppvfmBQGq17Mp7t3c%3D) Grayloc specs are determined based on design data.
