Any (Third Party) user can access IMS applications that are hosted inside the Shell VPN environment, with public internet, using their non-Shell GI-D devices (including iPhone, iPad, Android, PC and Mac). ## Pre Requisites First a Shell account and a PING ID must be setup, then IMS access rights and a PING enabled website URL must be provided. ### Shell account Setup a third party user account within the Shell Global Address List. You can accomplish this by using this SNOW request to get it created in GAL. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201(534).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T15%3A24%3A30Z&se=2026-10-28T16%3A24%3A30Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=kLjajMX4rqwESMwuA%2Bf5xxeBQvBDA5DUzztCVt%2BYmEI%3D) ### PING ID Shell Identity Management Authentication & Authorization Service (SIMAAS) uses a product called Ping Identity to allow authorized persons to access Shell technology from outside the Shell network. This way also IMS can be accessed via PingID Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) from outside the Shell network. To setup PingID Authentication: 1. Register for PingID - see the Shell guidelines: - [](https://servicenow.shell.com/sp?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=19940435db808150c4ccdc03f3961990)[Guide to PingID Setup on SIMAAS](https://servicenow.shell.com/sp?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=19940435db808150c4ccdc03f3961990) (see also attached), or - [Setting UP PingID Mobile Device Application](https://eu001-sp.shell.com/sites/AAAAA9317/Prod/Scheduling%20Web%20Docs/Company%20Related%20Docs/Setting%20Up%20PingID%20Mobile%20Device%20%20Application.pdf). 2. Install the PingID application and pair your mobile device / desktop - for guidance see: - [](https://servicenow.shell.com/sp?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=19940435db808150c4ccdc03f3961990)[Guide to PingID Setup on SIMAAS](https://servicenow.shell.com/sp?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=19940435db808150c4ccdc03f3961990) (see also attached), or - [PingID Registration for iOS Devices Video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5vN7af78do).
