M-IDAP calculates the Corrosion Rate (CR) from the CML data. From the CR the Remnant Life (RL) is determined. This in turn is used to determine the Maximum Inspection Interval (MII) and Next Inspection Date (NID) of the Circuit. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/MiRO%20(62).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D)M-IDAP Corrosion Rate calculations - Constraints and Business Rules. ## Overview The Overview section shows the basic Circuit and M-IDAP data. The first 4 values are editable and the rest are read-only. Editable data: - Min Days - Minimal Days difference between 2 measurements to create a Linear Combination. - Min CR - Minimal Corrosion Rate required to form a Linear Combination - From Date & To Date - Outer Bounds that exclude measurements that do not fall between them from creating Linear Combinations. Other data: - Current LID - Last Inspection Date of the entire Circuit. - Calculation Date - Date on which the calculation was run. - Current Basis - M-IDAP Calculation Confidence Basis of the most recent calculation run. - Confidence Target - M-IDAP Calculation Confidence Target of the most recent calculation run. The Confidence Target shows the calculation confidence requirement. The Confidence Target is based on several parameters, most importantly Product ([defined on Equipment](/docs/miro-equipment#specifying-the-product)). The Confidence Target can also be defined on Unit level and will then overwrite the calculated Confidence Target. For furnaces the Confidence Target is always 99%. ![A person holding a basketball hoop Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-SZ66EKND.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) ## Details - MIDAP Calc Results The Details section show the Calculation Summary as well as the **MIPDA Calc Results** tab. Here the results of the M-IDAP calculation can be viewed. - Confidence Target. - LID (Last Inspection Date) shows the last inspection date of an individual CML. - Final CR is the decided-upon Corrosion Rate of the calculation. - CF (Confidence Factor). A higher Confidence Factor (CF) pushes the NID sooner. - NID (Next Inspection Date) is calculated from the MII + combined LID (this combined LID is the newest LID of all CMLs and is displayed in the top of the MII column), as this will give the most conservative NID. - First 2 WT (Wall Thickness) values (mm and %) are calculated for the combined LID. The last 2 are calculated for the date on which the recalculation was run. The [mm] column displays the predicted Wall Thickness based on the model Corrosion Rate and the last actual Wall Thickness reading. The [%] column displays the Wall Thickness difference as a percentage of change. - The 3 sets of columns: CF, MII, and NID; with the additional headers: 99%, 95%, and 90%; are the columns that represent these values for each of the 3 Confidence Targets possible. Based on the Confidence Target, these are used as the Final CF, MII, and NID. ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-WTJWDPWY.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) ## CML Measurements CML Measurements displays the raw Measurements data to be used in the M-IDAP calculation. The grid contains the per-date and per-inspection method Measurements that do not have any of the growth errors associated with them. Next to the grid a chart is shown. This chart combines the raw Measurements data with some of the calculation results to roughly make sense of the entire calculation. Nominal WT and Renewal WT are lifted directly from the selected CML. The Measurements are the same ones as in the CML Measurements grid to the left. Circuit LID is the newest LID of all the CMLs of a specific Circuit. The CR (Corrosion Rate) and NID (Next Inspection Date) lines are drawn based on the M-IDAP Calc Results data for that CML. The CR goes up to the Remnant Life date while the NID goes up to the NID date.Note: These values are only saved for the final calculation of a Circuit and will not be correct if looking at a past Inspection Event. ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-IGXQZLQN.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) You can click on **Raw Data** to open the Raw Data window. This will display the measurements from the grid as individual entries and not as a pivot grid. The Date and MT (Measurement Type) will be used to form the header of the pivot grid column while the AWT (Actual Wall Thickness) will be used as the cell content. Note: These values are only saved for the final calculation of a Circuit and will not be correct if looking at a past Inspection Event. ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-AUELBEDK.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) To see the Qualifiers (Clogging, Deposits and Damage Morphologies), tick the Show QF checkbox. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/Screenshot_493.jpg?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D)Tick the Show QF checkbox to see the Qualifiers. ## RBI Data The RBI Data section contains all the Linear Combinations (LC) formed between all the measurements of a Circuit. Here, the [Overview](/v414/docs/m-idap-miro-corrosion-calcs#overview) data such as Min Days, Min CR, and From Date/To Date excludes some of the Linear Combinations formed. Every LC (Linear Combination) has a CML and MT (Measurement Type) and a From/To date that tell us which 2 Measurements were used to create the LC. From these 2 Measurements, a CR (Corrosion Rate) is calculated. Further calculation steps, or user input, might set some LCs as Outliers and this will be shown as a checked box in the "X" column. If you excluded or included one of the LCs that were automatically set by the M-IDAP calculation, the Manual checkbox will get checked. Note: These values are only saved for the final calculation of a Circuit and will not be correct if looking at a past Inspection Event. ## ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-G3EMHYNQ.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D)Solver Data The Solver Data section expands the RBI Data rows to also include additional M-IDAP calculation columns. The Outlier LCs are not included in this section. These additional columns are the intermediary steps between the LCs to the M-IDAP Calc Results. Note: These values are only saved for the final calculation of a Circuit and will not be correct if looking at a past Inspection Event. ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-FS8HW6IK.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) Click on **Calculation Details** to open a window with a more detailed rundown of the M-IDAP calculation. The Calculated tab represents the chosen calculation type results with Outliers implemented. The other 3 tabs will show all 3 individual calculation distributions: Normal, Log Normal, and Weibull. These 3 will be displayed as they would be calculated on the first run of the calculation, where no Outliers were set yet. ![A screenshot of a computer Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/pic%201-6IRK3TXX.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D) ## Distribution Chart From the [RBI Data](/v414/docs/m-idap-miro-corrosion-calcs#rbi-data) and [Solver Data](/v414/docs/m-idap-miro-corrosion-calcs#solver-data) sections, a Distribution Chart is drawn. "Measured" dots are LC Corrosion Rates over the LCs Cumulative Frequency. "Outlier" are the outliers that were set as such by right-clicking on the "Measured" dots. These changes can be saved or discarded by clicking the *Save* or *Discard* buttons in the upper-right corner of the chart. If discarded, these will turn back to blue. If saved, they will be removed from the calculation by being set to outliers. The blue line is the Model Corrosion Rate. Upper and Lower Bounds are the Model calculated extremes. These two extremes are then changed by the globally set Tolerance. Everything outside these purple lines is automatically set as an outlier LC. ## ![A graph with colorful lines Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/3.4.4-integrate-existing-miro-corrosion-rate-calculator-for-fixed-eq-and-piping-image-g81oey0d.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T14%3A23%3A18Z&se=2026-10-28T15%3A23%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=OOg%2Bu1cJ0QjQWL%2FOpnESMYm%2B5cKlIYIBvGTzmgrU%2FwU%3D)
