These points mark precisely where inspection data is collected. Multiple MPs can exist within a single Condition Monitoring Location (CML). When requesting Wall Thickness measurements, you need to select a [Measurement Set (MSET)](/v414/docs/managing-measurement-sets), which is a collection of MPs on the Equipment. The Measurement Positions section is used to create and maintain the applicable CMLs for the selected Circuit. The grid shows a toolbar that can be used to do so - to learn more about the toolbar options see [PEI Circuits - Details Page](/v414/docs/pei-circuits-details-page#cml-toolbar). ### Adding Measurement Points to the CML On the CML Details page, MPs can be created automatically and manually. If an [MP Configuration](/v414/docs/mp-configuration-settings#creating-new-mp-configurations) is assigned to the CML during creation, the MPs are generated automatically and migrated to the Pre Defined MPs (PDMPs) according to the selected configuration. If an MP Configuration is assigned to an existing CML during editing, the Predefined Measurement Points in the Measurement Positions section will not be created automatically. To migrate the MPs to the PDMPs: - Navigate to the Measurement Positions section. - Click the *Migrate* button to convert MPs to PDMPs. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/Screenshot_566(1).jpg?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A39%3A16Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A39%3A16Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=nIDCDiWqIuFEkRre%2Bgpw7t8UG9JNg8UR7efZepF5oZY%3D) - Click the *Save* button in the Toolbar. #### Creating New Measurement Points on a CML To create a new Measurement Point manually: - Click the *Plus* button. - Select the MP Name. - If Matrix Locations for the CML Type have been defined in the [Settings](/v414/docs/configuring-cml-types-in-settings), select the Location. - The Pre Def MP Name will be generated automatically. - Click **Save**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e492a0e0-a4ba-4aca-8fc6-76b95f91fdf3/Images/Documentation/image-1758264358218.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-28T13%3A39%3A16Z&se=2026-10-28T14%3A39%3A16Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=nIDCDiWqIuFEkRre%2Bgpw7t8UG9JNg8UR7efZepF5oZY%3D) Save the newly created MP ### Copying and Pasting Measurement Points Measurements You can copy the data, such as Nominal WT, Diameter, and Renewal Thickness, from one PDMP and paste it into another PDMP within the same CML.
