# Sulphidic Corrosion

## Summary

Sulphidation refers to the corrosion that occurs in the materials of construction of equipment and piping in petroleum refinery processes that handle crude oils, crude products and distillates containing organic sulphur compounds and including hydrogen-rich gases containing hydrogen sulphide (H2S).
