If the Overall SIL for the Consequence is not acceptable, you will need to add one or more SIF Analyses and determine (for each SIF Analysis) the minimum required RRF, i.e., its Target PFD, that achieves an acceptable Overall SIL level.
Adding a New SIF Analysis
To add a new SIF Analysis:
- Click Add New SIF Analysis.
- Fill in the details. See Starting New SIF Analyses.
Adding an existing SIF Analysis
To add an existing SIF Analysis:
- Click Add Existing SIF Analysis.
Changing a Barrier to a SIF Analysis
To change a Barrier to a SIF Analysis:
- Select the Barrier and click the fold-out bar to open the Barrier Properties.
- For the Category, select “SIF Analysis”.
- Now you can again click Add New SIF Analysis or Add Existing SIF Analysis.
When done, you can calculate the SIF Analysis’s Target PFD.
