Step 11 Review Results – NID, MII, IS, Inspection Effectiveness

Aim

The S-RBI deliverables are:

  • A Next Inspection Date (NID) – mainly for AR DMs.
  • An Inspection Strategy (IS) and sometimes Maximum Inspection Interval (MII) – for NAR DMs.
  • A required Inspection Effectiveness* – for AR DMs. The user can use the S-RBI results (Interval Factor (IF) and Remnant Life (RL)) to determine this. The required Inspection Effectiveness then in turn determines the required combination of Inspection technique and coverage.

*Note: According to API RP 581.

These 3 deliverables determine how and when to inspect, i.e., how to verify the Barriers, and should be reviewed and interpreted, before being assigned to an inspection in Step 12.
