Step E: Writing Narratives

In the Narrative section you can describe the inspection that was performed, the findings, and maintenance activities.

To enter a Narrative:

  • Click in the Narrative section.

  • Several options will become available:
When in Edit mode you can insert RTF or even add new RTF defaults.

 

  • Click PLAN to see the credited Schedule’s information (scope and Narrative), and click the arrow if you want to add this to the Narrative.
  • Click SUGGESTION to see the ECH’s inspection data and code information, and click the arrow if you want to add this to the Narrative.

  • You can also click the drop-down and Insert default text. For more information on Rich Text Defaults see IMS Details Page (Rich Text Defaults).
  • You can also write your own text, making use of the Rich Text functionality.
  • To see earlier revisions, click on the Revision button.


Clicking the revision button (see enlarged above), the earlier revision information will show. 

Adding Additional Data (Drawings, Comments, Attachments)

To support the Narrative, you can use the other sections on the ECH Details Page to add relevant data.

Drawings and Documents

You can use the Drawings and Documents section to add drawings and documents. Click SEARCH FOR DRAWINGS to do so. You can link to Drawing and Documents if available for your site. See Uploading drawings and documents.

Take Note
When you annotate a drawing you can long click with the pointer on an annotation to add this as an Observation.
Note: Otherwise adding annotations to drawings works the same as adding annotations to attachments in the Attachment section - see IMS Details Page.

Comments

You can use the Comment section to add Comments. Click Edit to do so.

Attachments

You can use the Attachments section to add Attachments. Refer to IMS Details Page for more information on adding and annotating Attachments.


Now you can create new Schedules (Step F) if needed and not yet done, create a Report to review the ECH (Step G) and then Approve the ECH (Step H).IMS Details Page
