Creating an ECH in FCM

Prev Next

This section of the Handbook describes how to create ECH for Flange Equipment.

There are two general approaches to creating ECHs in FCM:

  • Grouping Schedules using Jobs: Scope of work is predictable and can be planned prior to going into the field. Jobs are used to group Schedules into a predictable scope of work, typically covering the amount of work done in short period of time, such as a day to a week. See: Creating ECHs using Jobs.

  • Event or Opportunity Driven: Some workflows use FCM to record event or opportunity driven work completed on Flange Equipment. For these workflows, Condition Histories can be created directly on the FLOC, without the need to create a Job or a Schedule. See: Creating Event or Opportunity Driven ECHs.

Creating ECHs using Jobs

In IMS FCM an ECH should be created for each of the Flange Connections that are included in a Job's Scope.

To start creating ECHs for the Flanges included in a Job:

  • Open the Job Details Page by clicking on it in the Jobs grid list.

  • Click the Condition History button in the Job Details Page header, or in the Flange Scope toolbar.

Create an ECH from the Header or Flange Scope Toolbar.

After you click the blue Condition History button, a new section will appear in the Job Details Page as shown below.
