There are several places in IMS from where you can create a new CML. For example;

To create a CML:
Click Plus to create a new CML.
Enter the required data in the pop-up window. See the table below.
Click Save when done.
The new CML will be created and you will be redirected to its Details page. Note: You can open a CML Details Page at any time by clicking on the hyperlink in the CML column on the CML tab in the Circuit Details Page.
CML Popup fields:
Field /Column | Description |

Circuit | The name of the Circuit that the CML is part of. |
Sub Circuit | Sub-Group of the Circuit, for grouping similar CMLs within a Sub-Circuit. The Sub-Circuit-CML combination should be unique. If you do not want to group CMLs, you can use this as a short description. It is a mandatory field. |
CML | The CML ID, click on it to open the CML Details Page. The Active flag shows for each Circuit whether it is active or inactive:

CML Description | Short Description for the selected CML. |
CML Type | Type of CML (e.g., PIPE, HEADER BOX, REDUCER, TEE, SHELL, CHANNEL, NOZZLE). |
Must get | Check if this CML must always be measured. |
Position | Position of the CML in the Circuit. |
Nominal WT | Nominal Wall Thickness for the CML. |
Diameter | Nominal Diameter fro the CML. |
Renewal Thickness | Minimum Wall Thickness (WT) for the selected CML. |
Renewal Basis | Renewal basis, either CALCULATED, FITNESS FOR SERVICE, NOMINAL MINUS CORR ALLOWANCE, STRUCTURAL MIN. |
Required Inspection Method | Option to set a required Inspection Method (e.g. UT, RT) for all measurements for the CML (optional). |
Design Corrosion Allowance | Design Corrosion Allowance |
Drawing Filename | Name of the related drawing file. |
Line number on drawing | Line number on drawing. |
Line number in P&ID | Line number in P&ID. |
Sketch number | Sketch number. |
Longitude | Longitude |
Latitude | Latitude |
Altitude | Altitude |
The data you entered while creating a new CML will be displayed on the CML Details Page.
