In FCM, only Equipment of type Flange and type Grayloc can be created. To create other types of equipment, you must switch to the IMS PEI module. For sites interfaced with SAP, these other Equipment types must be created in SAP.

Creating Flange Equipment

After a Flange-FLOC has been created, Flange or Grayloc Equipment can be created. This can again be done in two ways:

Single Creation (user interface); or
Multiple Creation (import wizard – bulk upload). See Creating Flange-FLOCs.

Single Creation of FCM Equipment

There are several places in the FCM user interface from where you can create a single piece of Equipment in FCM. See the table below to To create a single Flange/Grayloc Equipment:

FLOC details page: Go to the Hierarchy section. Click on the Hierarchy tab. Click + New Equipment. The FLOC from which you create the Equipment will be the Parent FLOC.

Go to the Hierarchy section.
Click on the Hierarchy tab.
Click + New Equipment.

The FLOC from which you create the Equipment will be the Parent FLOC.

Fill in the fields. See the table below.
Click Save when done.

Flange/Grayloc Equipment pop-up fields:

Field	Description
Parent Id	Name of Flange-FLOC, for which you are creating the Flange Equipment.
Floc 1	This is based on the Flange-FLOCs parent and will already be filled in. You can navigate to the FLOC by clicking on the Hyperlink.
Hierarchy	Automatically filled in.
Equipment ID	Equipment name (prefilled with the Flange-FLOC name, but can be changed).
Description	Enter a description.
SAP Equipment Nr	Enter a number if applicable.
Equipment Group	Select FLANGE or GRAYLOC.
SAP Type	You can search for and select the applicable Type.
Start Date	Click in field and select a date.
Active	By default, set Active.
Equipment Status	Default is IN SERVICE
Critical Joint	Checked if critical. This flag is inherited from the parent Flange-FLOC and cannot be changed. Note: Critical joints require hydraulic tensioning or controlled bolt torquing with new studs and nuts. See Critical Joints for more details.
Unique Design	Checked if it is unique. This is based on Flange-FLOC.
Bad Actor	Checked if applicable. This is based on Flange-FLOC.

Multiple Creation of FCM Equipment

To batch create FCM Equipment:

Go to Settings \ Data Transfer \ Import Data.
Download either the Flange Equipment or Grayloc Equipment Templates.
Fill in the Template (yellow fields are mandatory).
Browse for your filled-in Template to import.

Batch import FCM Equipment using the Import Wizard.

Click Next and follow the prompts to import your Flange Equipment.
