Important Note

This manual describes only the new FCM Workflow that was introduced with IMS Release 2023.2. If you are looking for instructions relating to the previous FCM workflow, see: FCM Overview.

FCM Workflow Summary

The basic workflow in FCM follows the following steps:

  1. Inherit hierarchy (Functional Locations (FLOCs) and Equipment) from IMS PEI (or IMS RCM).

  2. Create Flange Connections to Equipment with Flange-FLOCs. Flange FLOCs are Level 5 FLOCs.

  3. Create Flange and Clamp (Grayloc) Equipment containing:

    • Tightening data and recommended specification.

    • Flange integrity calculations.

    • Schedule.

  4. Create Jobs, which can include Flanges and/or Clamps.

  5. Record your activities in Equipment Condition Histories (ECH).
