Fixing Matrix (Legacy Economic Questionnaire) Setting After Upgrade (UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask)

Prev Next

After upgrading an IMS RCM environment from an older version to the .NET versions 4.+ , some sites may experience calculation inconsistencies, including:

  • Asset factor being 10× higher

  • Incorrect DET matrix values

  • Incorrect economic questionnaire behaviour

  • Incorrect criticality and scheduling results

This happens because older IMS versions stored the setting
UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask
in
web.config, but .NET-based versions no longer read that file.

To restore correct behavior, this legacy setting must be added to the Release environment JSON configuration file.

Find the correct webserver.
open IIS (Internet Information Service) Manager

Right click the data service and press explore.

The explorer will open and find the folder with the “appsettings.Release.Json” (should be in the dataservice file).

Right click and Edit with Notepad++

Check if the Appsettings.Release.json already has the “UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask”: “2”, If not you can add it on top:

RCM only would be “UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask”: “2”

PEI only would be “UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask”: “1”

PEI and RCM would be “UseLegacyEconomicQuestionnaireBitMask”: “3”

Restarting Data service:

After that restart the Data service and check the Matrix for correct values.
This can be done by going back to IIS Manager, right clicking the data service → Manage Website → Restart
