HEMP / Criticality Indicator Status

The HEMP / Criticality Indicator is visible in the Equipment and FLOC Mains Screens and Details Pages. It is also possible to import HEMP / Criticality Indicators. Both HEMP and Criticality Indicator can be active and used in parallel.

The Criticality Indicator is available on both FLOC and Equipment in PEI, TAT, PLSS, and RCM, while the HEMP Status is available only on PEI Equipment, TAT Equipment, RCM FLOCs, and RCM Equipment.

Note: The Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP) is used by some of our clients as an element in their Health Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) to address risk assessment. The HEMP methodology identifies various hazards at the facility and assesses management of the identified hazards.

Enabling the Criticality Indicator

A prerequisite for the Criticality Indicator to be visible is that the B Value of the Application Setting Enable Criticality Indicator should be set to 1.

Enable Editing for the Criticality Indicator / HEMP

For the Criticality Indicator / HEMP to be editable, i.e., not filled in by SAP, the B Value of Application Setting Enable Criticality Indicator / Enable HEMP should be set to 2.

Importing Criticality Indicators

The Criticality Indicator can be imported via the FLOC / Equipment templates available in the Import Wizard.

The Criticality Indicator can have a legacy value Letter. The value can, however, only be changed to a non-legacy option.

The importer has its own validation for the Criticality Indicator, and the following errors on import can be present:

  • Criticality Indicator column is present in the import file. The Criticality Indicator field can be imported only if the ApplicationSetting "Enable Criticality Indicator" is set to WRITE (2).
  • Criticality Indicator cannot be set to a legacy value if the entity is created through import.
  • Criticality Indicator field can only be changed to non-legacy options.
