HEMP / ABC Indicator Status
The HEMP / ABC Indicator is visible in the Equipment and FLOC Mains Screens and Details Pages. It is also possible to import HEMP / ABC Indicators.
The ABC Indicator is available on both FLOC and Equipment in PEI, TAT, PLSS, and RCM, while the HEMP Status is available only on PEI Equipment, TAT Equipment, RCM FLOCs, and RCM Equipment.
Note: The Shell Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP) is used as an element in the Health Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) to address risk assessment. The HEMP methodology identifies various hazards at the facility and assesses management of the identified hazards.
Enabling the ABC Indicator
A prerequisite for the ABC Indicator to be visible (and importable) is that the B Value of the Application Setting Enable new ABC indicator criticality should be set to 1.
The setting will also hide the HEMP fields and Critical Codes. (These fields are not implemented on PLSS.)
Enable Editing for the ABC Indicator / HEMP
For the ABC Indicator / HEMP to be editable, i.e., not filled by SAP, the B Value of Application Setting SAP Interface Active should be set to 0.
Note: The "SAPINTERFACE_ACTIVE" Database setting does not have any effect on this functionality.
See below an Example where HEMP is enabled and editable:

Importing ABC Indicators
The ABC Indicator can be imported via the FLOC / Equipment templates available in the Import Wizard.
The ABC Indicator can have a legacy value Letter. The value can, however, only be changed to a non-legacy option (A,B,C,D).
The importer has its own validation for the ABC Indicator, and the following errors on import can be present:
- The ABC Indicator field can be imported only if the Application Settings Enable new ABC Indicator criticality is enabled and SAP Interface Active is disabled.
- The ABC Indicator cannot have a legacy value if the Equipment is created through import.
- The ABC Indicator field can only be changed to the non-legacy options.
- The ABC Indicator field value is not valid.
