This article describes how to import and export RCM Analyses (and What If scenarios) in IMS.
Although you can use the Analysis Main Screen (Grid List) to review and update RCM Analyses, you may stumble upon practical situations that call for a more powerful update method. For such situations IMS provides a powerful import/export facility.

Export for Import
The easiest way to build an import file is to start from an export, because the export shows exactly which data is needed and in which format. To do this, use Export for Import.

The Analysis import file includes fields for Tag and Systems data, Criticality data, PONC and POC data. When importing a file, you must define a FLOC or an Equipment, along with a Functional System (with its Function and Functional Failure) and a PLE.
Note
New data allows a high degree of freedom — for example, adding a Failure Mode or adding Tasks. Modifying existing data allows a limited degree of freedom: in some cases, the existing data must be cleared or deleted before new data can be entered, to avoid duplication.
For more information on the import functionality, see Importing RCM Data.
RCM Analysis Import Sheet – Field Requirements
The attached Excel file gives detailed information on the fields required for the Analysis import.

Exporting Analyses and What If Scenarios
The RCM Analysis export screen provides the following export options:
Export only Analyses — exports Analyses only.
Export What If Scenario — exports What If scenarios only.
Multi export — exports both Analyses and What If scenarios, in two separate sheets.

Importing What If Scenarios
What If scenarios can also be imported via the Import Wizard. You can also use the Import Wizard to download the What If Scenario template.
