From this screen, you can do the following:

  • Browse the FLOC hierarchy.

  • Search for specific FLOCs.

  • Filter FLOC records.

  • Open FLOC details.

  • Create new FLOCs.

  • Manage FLOC relationships.

Open the FLOC Main Screen

The FLOC Main screen lists all the existing FLOCs, their details, allows you to create new FLOCs, and many additional actions. To access the main screen, do the following:

  1. Open IMS.

  2. On the main menu, click FLOC.

The FLOC Main Screen opens and displays available Functional Locations.

Main Screen Layout

The FLOC Main Screen contains the following areas.

Allows creating a new FLOC.

Contains actions such as Activate, Label, Import/Export, and Settings.

Allows modifying the grid by showing, hiding, and rearranging additional toolbar options.

Hierarchy button

Displays the Site → Plant → Unit → FLOC hierarchy.

Search

Allows finding specific FLOCs.

Scoping bar

Shows the available Site(s), Plant(s) and Unit(s). Helps narrow displayed results.

Filter

Helps narrow displayed results based on specific criteria.

Grid list

Displays FLOCs and related information. For detailed column descriptions, see Default FLOC Record.

Collapse/Expand button

Displays record with several fields that summarize a FLOC.

Default FLOC Record

Use the following table to understand the data included in the FLOC records.

Hierarchy

FLOC ID

Name of the FLOC. Click the FLOC ID to open the FLOC details.

FLOC Description

Short Description for the selected FLOC.

Perform RCM

Indicates if the assets under this FLOC are included in the RCM analysis.

Location Type

Hierarchy Type for the selected FLOC (e.g. PIPE-FLOC, EXCHANGER-FLOC, TANK-FLOC). This determines which Equipment Groups can be assigned to the FLOC.

Startup Date

Installation date of the FLOC.

Plant

Plant to which the FLOC is assigned.

Unit

Unit to which the FLOC is assigned.

Parent FLOC ID

Name of the parent Unit for the FLOC.

#EQ

Number of Equipment under the FLOC.

#FMs

Number of Failure Modes per FLOC.

#Tasks

Number of Tasks per FLOC.

Base Risk

Inherent risk, before mitigating measures.

Residual Risk

Risk that remains after controls and measures have been applied.

Total Annual POC

Annual cost, expressed in k$/yr.

AC

Analysis completeness.

#BA

Bad Actors Count.

Labels

Custom labels to add by users for each record.

ABC Indicator

Criticality level of the FLOC.

RSL

Reliability Strategy Library assigned to FLOC.

RSL Status

Approval status of a Reliability Strategy Library.

RSL Strategy

Type of Care Strategies within Reliability Strategy Libraries.

Area

Data related to a specific area of FLOCs.

3D Area

Data related to a specific area within a 3D model.

RCM Priority

RCM priority of the FLOC.

Equipment

List of Equipment ID(s) assigned to the FLOC.

Equipment Description

Description for each Equipment assigned to the FLOC.

Hierarchy Type

Hierarchy Type for each Equipment assigned to the FLOC.

Filtering FLOCs

Use filters to narrow the displayed FLOC records. You can use several filters to drill down the search results.

To filter FLOCs, do the following:

  1. Click on the filter button.

  2. Select the checkbox(es) next to the filters that you want to use.

  3. Click Show.

Note

If you wish to remove any applied filters, click the Clear all filters button on the toolbar.

Filters include items such as:

  • FLOC Range (populate this field with multiple FLOCs for a direct search)

  • FLOCs with/without Equipment

  • Inspection Reason (e.g. CLASS 1, CLASS 2)

  • Location Type / Hierarchy Type (for example, EXCHANGER-FLOC, VESSEL-FLOC, PIPE-FLOC)

  • With/without Circuit

  • With/without Inspection Reason

Moving FLOCs

You can move a FLOC from one Unit to another. To move a FLOC, do the following:

From the FLOC main grid, items can be moved to another Unit, using button in the Toolbar. A new screen will appear where the user can select the new Parent (i.e. Unit) to which the FLOC will be moved. Also see PEI Hierarchy - Overview.

  1. On the FLOC Main Screen, select the checkbox of the FLOC you wish to move.

  2. On the Toolbar, click the Hierarchy button.

  3. On the Move FLOC(s) screen, select the new Parent (Unit) to which you wish to move the FLOC.

  4. Click Move.

You have successfully moved a FLOC form one Unit to another. For more information on where FLOCs are positioned compared to other objects such as Unites, see RCM Hierarchy.
